Chelsea manager has come out and defended AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso after the Milan captain was involved in an altercation with Tottenham assistant manager Joe Jordan towards the end of AC Milan’s 1-0 defeat  to Tottenham. The altercation ended with the Italian international headbutting Jordan.

Ancelotti, who managed Gattuso at Milan for eight years during which the club won two European Cups. Ancelotti  said, ”I was obviously not happy because Gattuso is a very generous player, is a very good man. He made a mistake. I’m very disappointed with this. Also, he was very disappointed after the game. He said sorry and full stop.”

And he went on the say,”It is great to know I’m still contributing to the team’s success and I feel I’ve got a lot to offer on and off the pitch. This is an exciting time to be involved with so many good young players coming through.”

Long time United manager was also full of praise for the midfielder claiming Giggs was a “special person.”

“You run out of words to describe Ryan Giggs,” explained Ferguson. “He is a marvellous player and a wonderful man. To have the desire and the ability to play at the top level in such a physically demanding position at his age requires a special person. He is still turning in man of the match performances and his experience is so vital for the younger players in the squad.”
